Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2020
Power, elegance, and timeless depth
Grape Varieties
65% Corvina · 15% Corvinone · 10% Rondinella · 10% other native grapes
In the Vineyard
The vineyards lie at 450 meters above sea level, on soils rich in calcareous fossils, particularly Scaglia Rossa and Biancone. Grapes are carefully hand-harvested in multiple passes during the last two weeks of September to ensure optimal ripeness, then left to dry in a traditional fruttaio (drying room).
The 2020 vintage was marked by low rainfall, excellent temperature variation, and breezy conditions. Summer was warm but without water stress—ideal for Amarone.
In the Cellar
After harvest, grapes remain in the fruttaio until mid-December. This drying process concentrates sugars, aromas, and structure. Fermentation and maceration take place in small stainless steel vats, followed by 18–24 months of aging in 500 L oak tonneaux. The wine then rests further in bottle until perfect maturity.
