A powerful and complex Nebbiolo from unique volcanic soils
The Gattinara D.O.C.G. hills cover just over 100 hectares and are among the most picturesque in Italy. Small historic vineyards are located on steep slopes, surrounded by woods, with the Alps and Monte Rosa in the background. The vineyards are difficult to cultivate and are almost entirely hand-tended. Gattinara’s uniqueness comes from its complex, volcanic, rocky, and porous soils. Nebbiolo thrives here, producing small, loose clusters. This wine is austere, with strong tannins, yet rich in character and complexity.
